Instagram Public Username Capture — last updated July 31, 2026
This Chrome extension ("the extension") is developed by The Bored Monkey Studio ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data the extension accesses, why, and where it goes.
While a signed-in user browses instagram.com, the extension detects public profile pages (URLs shaped like instagram.com/<username>/) and automatically records the username to a Google Sheet that the installing organization controls. Private or unavailable profiles are skipped. Non-profile pages (posts, reels, stories, DMs, settings, etc.) are ignored.

All captured data is written directly from the user's browser to a single Google Sheet via Google's official Sheets API (sheets.googleapis.com). We do not operate a server, and no data passes through any infrastructure we control. We do not sell, share, or use this data for advertising, and we do not use it to train any model.
The extension does not read private Instagram profiles, direct messages, or any Instagram account credentials. It does not access any website other than instagram.com and Google's own API endpoints. It does not use remote code — all logic ships inside the packaged extension.
Captured rows live in the Google Sheet configured by the organization that deployed the extension. That organization controls how long data is kept and who can access the Sheet, since Google Sheets permissions apply as normal. To stop capturing, uninstall the extension or revoke its Google account access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
